Building a Home Office Desk

A dedicated productivity area is the first start to winning work-from-home or school-from-home. In this video,  H&L Rapid True Value DIY experts  Earl James and Orett Walker show how to build a farmhouse-style desk. 
 
Remember safety first, ensure you have your gloves and goggles before starting!
 
Step 1 – Measure and cut lumber for legs and backing. Measure twice and cut once!
Step 2 – Use drill and screws to join cut lumber and frame the legs for the desk.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Miter Saw or Circular Saw
  • Battery Drill
  • Measuring Tape
  • Try Square
  • 3/16” Wood Bit
  • Level
  • 4 pieces of 2 In. X 4 In. X 16 Ft. Treated Southern Yellow Pine
  • 1 piece of 2 In. X 4 In. X 10 Ft. Treated Southern Yellow Pine
  • 1 piece of 5/8 In .X 4 Ft. X 8 Ft. Form Ply
  • One 3.8L/1 Gal. Latex Professional Coating Paint 
  • 100 - 10cm x 3inch Wood Screws
