MECHANICS FOR THE PROMOTION

• The promotion will be conducted over the period November 27 to December 24, 2022 for H&L Loyalty purchases starting at $10,000, before GCT, at all H&L Rapid True Value stores.
• There will be a total of $3,000,000 in prizes:
  • One grand prize valued at $1,500,000 cash
  • 100 consolation prizes in the form of a H&L Gift Card valued at $15,000 each. Ten winners would be selected from each of the ten (10) participating stores across the island ($1,500,000 total).
• H&L Gift Card Prizes stated cannot be redeemed for cash.
• Prizes are non-transferable.
• The Promotion will be open to Jamaicans 18 years or older.
• Promotion will be advertised via posters, flyers, press, television, and radio advertisements.
• There is no limit to the number of entries one customer may have however, a single entry can only qualify for one prize.
• Grand Prize winner may not also win a consolation prize.
• Online purchases are not applicable as entries into this promotion.
• Persons employed to Hardware & Lumber Limited, along with their immediate family members (parents, siblings, cousins, children) and employees of H&L’s Ad Agencies cannot enter this promotion.

HOW TO ENTER

• When making a purchase with a minimum value of $10,000 (excluding GCT) at a H&L Rapid True Value store during the promotion period, customers should present their loyalty card at the cashier when completing their transaction. An entry will be recorded in the Loyalty competition database which is a part of Hardware & Lumber’s ERP system, hosted by VAI (the developer) in their data centers in New Jersey and Florida.
• The number of entries a customer receives may vary based on the value of the transaction (exclusive of GCT). The following ranges apply:
  • $10,000 - 1 Entry
  • $10,001- $20,000 – 2 Entries
  • Above $20,000 – 3 Entries

SELECTION OF WINNERS

• Potential winning entries will be selected randomly from the database of entries at 2:00 p.m. on the draw date: December 27, 2022 to randomly select the one grand prize winner and two back up winners. And consolation prize winners will be randomly selected: 10 winners and 10 back up winners per store. The data will be extracted from our ERP system and exported to an external website (random.org) where the platform’s randomizer functionality will be used to select the winners. The winners will be contacted by the H&L team.
• The draw (consolation prizes and grand prize) will be conducted at the H&L Head Office at 697 Spanish Town Road.
• Selected winners will be contacted via telephone. If we are unable to contact the winner after 3 days (3 times per day) of attempts, the backup winner will be selected. A call is deemed fail if all attempts are unsuccessful. Calls are unsuccessful if the phone rings without an answer, if the call fails or if it goes to voicemail for 3 days.
• Selected winners will be instructed to claim their prize at the store where they conducted the winning entry purchase. Winners will be required to present a government issued ID (Passport, Driver’s License, Voter’s ID) for validation.
• If the selected winners do not show up at the location to redeem their prizes within 10 days of contact, the backup entry selected will be granted the prize. If the backup entry does not redeem the prize, it will be invalidated, and H&L will keep the prize.

PRIZES

• GRAND PRIZE: One prize of $1.5 million cash
• CONSOLATION PRIZES: Ten (10) consolation prizes valued at $15,000 each will be issued as H&L Gift Cards.

All winners will be required to sign for their prizes in store upon receipt.

RELEASE

Hardware & Lumber reserves the right to use the winners’ image or voice (release will be sent to select winners) in any advertising or promotional activity without consideration. Failure to participate will result in the forfeiture of any prize.
